A Practical Stay in Montpellier: Balancing Value and ComfortDuring my recent visit to Montpellier, I opted for a stay at this hotel, primarily due to its proximity to the train station. The location, just one tram stop from Montpellier Saint-Roch and a mere 10-minute journey to the city center, is indeed its most commendable feature. The reception staff's warm demeanor does contribute positively to the experience, offering a genuine sense of hospitality. The hotel provides basic amenities such as free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV, though the size of the rooms leaves much to be desired, creating a cozy yet cramped atmosphere. While breakfast is included, I found it rather mediocre and would recommend enjoying the nearby cafes instead. An added cost of €20 for air conditioning might surprise some guests, reflecting the hotel’s age—an establishment reminiscent of better days in the early 1900s, now leaning towards a two-star rating. In summary, this hotel may not encapsulate luxury, yet it presents an affordable option for travelers who prioritize location and cost over lavish accommodations. For a night or two, it serves its purpose efficiently.
